Summary

Class was divided into two parts. First part was dedicated to physics and theoretical foundations behind Integer Quantum Hall Effect (IQHE), similar to material covered in D. Tong’s lectures, while second part was about replica \(\sigma\)–model for 2DEG with \(\delta\)–correlated disorder… Yeah, so I’m not gonna talk about the second part since I didn’t really learn anything from it.

The problems we were solving were fun since they were both realted to physical expriment of IQHE and inroduced new mathematical models do describe quantum transport of electrons with disorder. Unfortunately, I still do not understand the importance of impurities for observation of IQHE, but at least I have some understanding of math behind it.
