Non-linear Hydrodynamics

Summary

A very unusual class. I see that now it was removed from the chair’s program, makes sense. I don’t feel like i’ve learned much, it was mostly a master-class on how to solve problems by Prof. Ruban. He, of course, seemed like he was very skilled at finding solution to any mathematical problem, even the ones that felt completely alien to me.

All I remeber now is how I marveled at Prof. Ruban’s solutions. Solutions were quite ugly, as if they were written by an amateur genius, who have not ever made an attempt to methodiucally study all the known solution techniques becuase he never felt the need to, he was smart enough to solve any problem he ever encountered with what he developed himself. Yet it was extremly impressive to see professor state the problem one day and bring a 5 page long solution the next.
